Свое название центробежный радиальный вентилятор получил благодаря принципу действия, когда воздух выбрасывается за счет центробежной силы. Механизм его состоит из лопастей, помещенных в спиральный кожух, рабочего колеса и двигателя. Вращающиеся лопасти засасывают воздух, подавая его в кожух, затем в воздуховоды, и поступает он уже очищенным в выходное отверстие. Таким образом, механическая энергия преобразуется в энергию потока воздуха. Радиальные вентиляторы требуют особых условий эксплуатации: в воздухе наличие механических примесей не должно превышать 1 г/м3, а его температура не может быть более 80 ⁰С.
Эти агрегаты классифицируются по разным параметрам. В зависимости от того, в каком направлении происходит движение воздуха, различают вентиляторы вытяжные и двустороннего всасывания. В зависимости от величины давления воздуха они могут быть низкого давления, среднего или высокого давления.
Радиальные вентиляторы классифицируются как устройства правого или левого вращения. Это зависит от того, в каком направлении двигаются лопасти – по часовой стрелке или против.
Радиальные вентиляторы предназначены для установки в комплексах кондиционирования, в системах подачи-отвода воздуха, используются для охлаждения оборудования. Высокое давление, создаваемое ими, обеспечивает мощный воздушный поток, который легко регулируется понижением давления. Простота и легкость обслуживания – еще одно из немаловажных их преимуществ.
